Wednesday, Nov. 5th: Story Telling Festival. At 6:30 p.m. the students will be in different classrooms at the school telling their stories. Of course parents are encouraged to come listen along with any others wishing to give support. All story tellers will receive a picture drawn by our art teacher, Mrs. McDonald. Wow!
Friday, Nov. 7th: Dean’s List Assembly. There will be more seating now for parents as we are going to hold 2 separate assemblies. At 9:15 a.m. for Kindergarten – 2nd grades, and 10:00 a.m. for 3rd – 5th. If your child is selected on the Dean’s List and will walk through the “W”, you will be notified.
Tuesday, Nov. 11th: Veteran’s Day Parade. This is the county parade honoring veterans and our school will be participating! The upper grades (3rd – 5th) will be walking in the parade and the lower grades will be watching. The 5th graders will be singing at the program immediately following the parade (in the Veteran’s Park). After the program the veterans are invited to a luncheon where our choir will be their entertainment. J
Nov. 17th – 21st : Parent Conferences. School dismisses early at 1:15 each day during this week. Please watch for the blue note sent home today explaining how to get on line and schedule your appointment with your child’s teacher. Please call the office if you don’t have access to a computer and we’ll schedule the appointment over the phone.

We usually meet on the final Friday of every month in the afternoon at 2:00p.m. You can find an agenda on our website. Our next meeting however, is on Dec. 5th as the last Friday is a school holiday. Anyone can come to these meetings as they are always open to the public.
The Dixie Direct books will be in our office for sale this week. This is a big fund-raiser for our school and we appreciate all of you for holding off and buying your books through us. J The 3rd – 5th graders will be bringing home a book for you to buy (the cost is $35). If you don’t want the coupon book/card, please return it still wrapped up so we can sell it from here. If you would like to see what the book has to offer, please open it up and check out the coupons. Many are for out-right free food items at different restaurants/fast food places in the St. George area. If the book comes back without the card, that means you bought it. J
The results of last year’s end of the year test (SAGE) are in and we’ll be either mailing them home to you or giving them out at Parent Conferences during the week of Nov. 17 – 21st. If you get the report in the mail, it will be accompanied by an explanation of how to interpret the scores. This test was more challenging than those of recent years and was scaled differently (meaning what is considered Proficient is a little different than in the past). The expectations were higher and the questions more rigorous. We’re ok with rigor and know it will prepare our students to be on an equal “playing field” with others from our district/state and globally. We will be prepared to explain further at parent conferences.
