Final Summer Update! WElcome Back!
Washington Elementary Families —
I hope you are all doing well. I guessing you’ve enjoyed your summer break and have made many memories and might be a bit apprehensive about school starting again. And … I really hope your air conditioning is working well, because it is HOT outside! Thankfully, the air conditioning is working well at the school. Our custodial team has been working hard and doing all they can to help prepare the school for your return. Our secretaries returned to working their regular school hours (YES! The school office is open!) and are working feverishly to ensure all the supplies are in place and student registrations are all complete. Our teachers will return from their summer break next week and we will make our final preparations for school to begin on August 13th. I wanted to quickly share a few items to ensure you know what is ahead:
#1 – Class Placement Email – you’ll receive an email on Friday, August 7 with your child’s class placement. Check with us on that day if you don’t receive the email and we can inform you of your child’s teacher.
#2 – Back to School Open House – Tuesday, August 11, 3:30 to 5:30pm – Our school will be ready to welcome each of you to come, visit your classroom and meet your teacher, walk around the school and visit the gym for a brief parent information meeting.
#3 – Title I Information – https://wes.washk12.org/
#4 – Free/Reduced Lunch Application – https://www.washk12.org/
#5 – Boys & Girls Club Information and Registration – Registration Link: https://bgcutah.org/sites/ – Our first day of the afterschool program will be Monday, August 17, 2026. If you are interested please complete the online registration via the link provided (you will need to scroll down to the Washington Elementary site)
Whew … that is a lot of information! We try and keep our website current and up to date with all things Washington Elementary. Start there if you have any questions or need contact information: https://wes.washk12.org/
Excited to be back and learning with each of you!
